Game Story
BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (Ticker) -- Seimone Augustus scored a
game-high 26 points to help fourth-seeded LSU hold off an upset
bid by No. 12 Maryland, 76-61.
Augustus shot 12-of-20 from the floor with four rebounds and a
steal.
Doneeka Hodges scored 15 points and Temeka Johnson added 12
points and 12 assists for the Lady Tigers (25-7), who outscored
the Terrapins in the second half, 49-33, by shooting 56 percent
from the field.
Tillie Willis chipped in with 10 points and 11 rebounds for LSU,
which advanced to the Sweet 16 for the eighth time in school
history and fourth since 1999. The Lady Tigers will face off
against top-seeded Texas next Saturday.
Shay Doron, who converted 11-of-12 free throws, had 23 points
for Maryland (18-13), which committed 17 turnovers in the loss.
Delvona Oliver added 15 points, nine rebounds and four blocks
for the Terrapins, who did get 30 points from their reserves in
defeat.

Willis will help fill the Lady Tigers need for size inside as she stands
6-3. She is considered one of the top post players heading to college next
season. Jones a 6-1 power forward, averaged over 20 points and 10 rebounds a contest in high school.
